LAST UPDATED: January 31, 2024
C3 Metrics, Inc. ("we", "our", and "us") offers a technology platform that helps marketers understand the value of their media and advertising channels. We call our Platform the “C3 Metrics Attribution Data Cloud.” It works by connecting media interactions with expenditures and consumer actions. As an example, for digital advertisement, we track a) media exposure (the users who saw an ad), b) media response (e.g., the users who clicked an ad), and c) conversion information (e.g., the action a Client’s user takes, such as an online purchase, an information request, or a document download). We also collect other information from our Clients, including information they provide on advertising spend, reach and effectiveness.
We collect information for our use (such as through this website), and to support our Platform and services delivered to Clients. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains our privacy practices regarding the information that we collect, use, share, and secure from visitors to https://c3metrics.com, (our "Website"), our technology platform (the "Platform"), our services ("Services") and any information collected from those who use our Platform and Services (our "Clients").

How We Use Information Collected on the Website and from Clients
C3 Metrics may use your Personal Information to register you to use C3 Metrics’ services and/or products, contact you to deliver certain services, materials or information you may have requested (e.g., a request for information by clicking on "Contact Us" tab, "Build a Scorecard" tab on the Website), authorize access to areas of the Website, improve the content and general administration of the Website and our services, and provide you with notices regarding our services. Generally, if you become a Client, there will be an additional agreement between us that provides information, terms, conditions and other important expectations on data transmission and usage.
We may also use information collected to a) monitor and analyze trends and track usage and user movement on the Website, and b), develop, improve, and refine the Platform and Services. We may also use this information to identify fraud or other unauthorized or illegal activity as well as generally to promote safety and security.
Without limitation, we reserve the right to use Information to carry out other purposes as identified and for which the Information was provided
INFORMATION COLLECTED THROUGH OUR PLATFORM
C3 Metrics’ Services include data collection, processing, and analysis - the results of which are delivered to our Clients in aggregated form. Overall, the Platform captures, combines, cleans, and normalizes data from a Client's marketing vendors and sources of conversion data. Our Clients, who are generally businesses marketing products or services, use this information to optimize marketing programs and expenditures.
To provide the Services, C3 Metrics works with Clients, Marketing Vendors and, possibly, Third Party Data Providers.
Clients: C3 Metrics offers its services to companies that advertise to consumers and may work with them directly or indirectly through an Advertising Agency they employ.
Marketing Vendors: These are companies that provide marketing services to Clients. These services may include digital marketing such as Search Engine Marketing, Email Marketing, Display Advertising, or others. These companies may also include vendors that provide offline marketing such as television, radio, out-of-home or mail.
Third Party Data Providers: These are companies that provide Clients or C3 Metrics with additional information on interactions or journeys or conversions. For example, Third Party Data Providers would include companies that provide offline purchase data for Clients.
Our Platform receives data on a Client’s marketing activities, and frequently includes:
A Unique ID for an interaction with advertising media – Our Platform creates and/or collects a pseudonymous unique identifier relevant to the source of data. On web browsers, this will probably be a unique user id created by C3 Metrics or generated by another system. On mobile devices, we may use the mobile advertiser ID provided by the mobile operating system. On a Connected TV, we may use the subscriber ID provided by the connected TV manufacturer. None of these IDs will be used by C3 Metrics to identify an actual person, but they allow our Platform to identify a browser, computer, mobile device, or TV, and might allow the possible aggregation of these devices into a unified graph or collection unit (e.g., all users using a particular operating system, or all users within a geographic area, or all users seeing a particular advertisement or creative alternative).
Ad serving and log file data - Our Platform also collects other information about a digital advertisement, such as ad campaign data provided by the Client, the date/time the ad was seen, the user agent and IP address, the referrer, and the landing page URL.
Client provided data - Our Clients may provide us additional identifiable information that might include a unique user identifier created by the Client, your email, your address, the total amount spent on a purchase, whether you are a returning customer, or other relevant data. We work with Clients to minimize the identifiable information transmitted to us, and to take steps – noted below – to increase the security of that information during transit, processing, and storage.
C3 Metrics uses the data collected about your browser or device to provide Services to Clients, which include:
Advertising Attribution - Our Platform collects data about your browser or device to create "consumer journeys.” Consumer journeys help our Clients better understand which (if any) ads engaged and drove you and other users to visit their sites and/or participate in a conversion event.
Segmentation and Aggregation - Our Platform will collect data allowing our Clients to place users into segments or aggregations such as "new customer" and "recurring customer,” allowing them to better understand the effectiveness of their marketing programs.
Fraudulent and Invalid Traffic Identification – Our Platform compares received advertising traffic with lists of known or suspected fraudulent activities, and those enabled by ‘bots and spiders,’ and other non-human or unidentifiable sources.
C3 Metrics collects data in various ways.
Some Clients place, or allow us to place, tracking pixels and JavaScript tags onto their websites. Some clients pass data to us directly, or via their marketing vendors or third-party partners. Many clients use both methods.
On mobile devices, we might use cookies within a browser, or we might collect data through integrations with application owners and the mobile analytics companies to which they integrate.
We may use analytic data and reports provided by other platforms, such as Google Analytics, if our Clients are using those services.
We may also engage in “cookie syncing” and other forms of ID synchronization. ID synchronization occurs when C3 Metrics provides known user identifiers to a third party data provider who then identifies the user and maps the third party’s identifier to the Client’s or C3 Metrics’ unique identifier for that user.
HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We do not share your personal information with third parties without your consent other than:
To Deliver our Services to Clients - C3 Metrics shares aggregated data collected via the Platform with Clients and their marketing partners to inform Client media plans, strategy, and actions.
With Our Service Providers – We may share information with third party agents and service providers (e.g., email marketing providers and database) who work on our behalf and use data only as directed by us.
In Response to Lawful Requests – C3 Metrics will share information to comply with laws or to respond to lawful requests and legal process (provided that C3 Metrics will endeavor to notify you if C3 Metrics has received a lawful request for your information).
To Protect Rights and Property - To protect the rights and property of C3 Metrics, our Clients, agents and others, including activities to enforce our agreements, policies, and our terms of service.
In an Emergency - In an emergency, including situations to protect the personal safety of any person.
As Part of a Corporate Restructuring - For the purposes of a business deal (or negotiation of a business deal) involving sale or transfer of all or a part of our business or assets (a business deal may include, for example, any merger, financing, acquisition, divestiture, or dissolution transaction or proceeding). In the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, Personal Information may also be transferred as a business asset. If another company acquires our company, business, or assets, that company will possess the Personal Information collected by us and will assume the rights and obligations regarding your Personal Information as described in this Policy.
OUR SECURITY MEASURES
C3 Metrics maintains commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect and process. We utilize encryption and security software and processes to safeguard the confidentiality of Personal Information we collect from a) unauthorized access or disclosure, and b) accidental loss, alteration, or destruction. We work to minimize the amount of Personal Information collected, and we strive to collect and store that data in secure manners, for instance, through secure transmission protocols and security hashing where possible.
Once we receive a transmission, we make reasonable efforts to ensure security within our systems. However, no data transmission over the Internet or storage of that information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. While we strive to protect your Personal Information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from our online services, and you do so at your own risk.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
We do not intentionally gather Personal Information from visitors who are under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, you are not permitted to submit any Personal Information to us. If we learn that a child under 13 submitted Personal Information to C3 Metrics, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible. If you believe that we might have any Personal Information from a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@C3 Metrics.com.
